Proverbs 24:16

“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked”

My husband is incredibly accident prone. He has shot himself in the leg with an air-nailer, torn off toenails and has had countless other accidents in the 10 years we have been married. It’s never a surprise when he comes home from work and tells me that he has cut himself… again.

The scripture above tells us that no matter how many times we may stumble and fall, we have the ability to decide to keep going forward. My husband doesn’t stay down for the count every time he injures himself, but rather he heals and keeps on going. We will make mistakes, we will doubt when we should trust and we may even try and take matters into our own hands, but we can always get back up, dust ourselves off and keep pressing forward.

Have you ever seen those blow-up punching bags with the weights in the bottom? When you punch them, they quickly go down but it isn’t long before they bounce right back up again. That is how I view us women of God, we are determined that when life throws a curveball and knocks us off our feet – we heal, surrender ourselves again back to God, get back up again and move forward.

He is a God who restores and He is a God of countless second chances. Find your strength in Him today and get back up again!

Prayer: Lord I am thankful that when I am weak, You make me strong. Help strengthen my resolve and give me the wisdom I need to keep moving forward in my relationship with You.
