“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8

It’s always so amazing to me that I can read scripture and miss something so obvious and important. I know I’ve read this verse before, but in reading it the other night the word “personally” jumped off the page at me.

We are told to be neither afraid or discouraged. I don’t know about you, but I see that there is plenty of that going around right now. People are scared, and rightly so. But we are commanded to not be afraid or discouraged because God will personally go ahead of us.

He already knows what tomorrow holds, and the day after that and the day after that. He won’t be surprised or caught off guard by what happens on our lives, for He has already walked through it for us.

He knows that whatever comes our way, it is all a part of his beautiful plan and purpose for our lives. He is an excellent creator and a master artist. No detail is left unnoticed and nothing is forgotten.

God promises us in this scripture that He will always be with us, He will never fail us and He will never abandon us. I rest so much easier when I remind myself that God has already walked through my tomorrow’s. If He goes before me, I know I can face whatever life throws my way because He has already conquered it!

Lord, remind me of Your faithfulness today. I know You go before me, help me to see You at work in my life today.
