“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee” (Exodus 20:12 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible).

My youngest brother recently received a promotion in the Army. He is now a Lt. Colonel. At the official party where all the pomp and ceremony occurred, he was telling me that he included Mom and Dad in his speech. Honoring your father and mother should never end. Although our parents are both deceased, my brother recognized where he came from and gave honor to them on this day of celebration for him. Their loving support is still embedded in his heart. Thanksgiving is a good time to reflect and give honor to your parents while you can.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for giving me wonderful and Godly parents who did their best for all eight of their children. I realize now just how much they gave to us and I honor them today for all the sacrifices they made for our family.
