“In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.” (Job 1:22)

Job had everything he could ever want. Life was good. He had a wife, children, cattle, servants, wealth, friends and health. Job loved God and God loved him.  But, in a matter of a short time, Job lost his children, cattle, most of his servants, wealth, friends and even his health. Job could have blamed God for all that he was going through, yet he did not turn his back on God. All he said was, “…the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away: blessed be the name of the Lord.” (Job 1:21)

There will be times in our lives that difficult things will happen to us. It is during those times that we should remember that God often allows these things to happen to see how we will react. Yes, Job had times where he wished that he had never been born. But, even after losing everything that he had, he just kept praising God.

Remember that suffering will only last for a season.  If we stay faithful to God, He will stay faithful to us. Job might have lost everything thing, but at the end of the suffering, God blessed him with more than he had in the beginning. If we stay faithful to God, our latter will be greater than our former.

Prayer:  Dear God, help me to remember that no matter what I go through in this life, You are always in control. Help me remember that no matter what I lose along the way, You’re working it for my good. No matter the situation, I will praise You because You are still a Great God. I know if I stay faithful to You through my trial, You will be faithful with Your blessings in the end. Amen!
