“Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!”

“But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!”

The Lord said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.”

Judges 6:14-16 NLT

I’ve been reading the story of Gideon these last few nights, and I keep coming back to one word “victory” That is what I feel for you in this season right now ladies.

Gideon felt unimportant, weak and struggled with believing he could be victorious. I have felt like this many times in my life, as I’m sure you have too.

But Gideon is told to go with the strength he has, and to rescue Israel. He didn’t have his life completely together, he wasn’t known for being the most spiritual, strongest man in the community, and time and time again we see that he doubts he can do what God is asking of him.

The strength Gideon did have was enough though, because God would be going with him into battle. Whatever strength you have today is enough if you place your life in His hands and trust that the battle is the Lord’s, not yours.

He goes before you! He promised Gideon that he would destroy the Midianites as though he were fighting against only one man, what an overwhelming victory that would be!

You can have victory today over whatever situation you are facing! There is power in surrender, so give your heart to Him, and allow God to go before you in battle today.

God, I am thankful that I can experience overwhelming victory through You today. You go before me, and are always working things out for my good. Be my shield and strength today.

  1. Thank you for this devotional today! So needed to her this going into this day as I have been feeling like I have no strength and not walking in victory. I know God has gone before me into battle today and I have strength and victory through Him . Praise God!
