“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers:” I Peter 3:12 As I was thinking about the way the Holy Spirit guides us and directs us, I remembered an incident that happened many years ago. One of our teachers in Bible College was Sis. Marguerite Stairs. She was a great teacher, knew her Bible well, and was loved and appreciated by us all. Weekend trips were always looked forward to. One or more of the teachers would go with us, dropping two students off at each church in a particular…
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;” Titus 2:13 It hardly seems that a year has passed since December 2022 was ending and we were looking ahead to a new year, wondering what it would hold for all of…
“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7 There were probably many stables in and near Bethlehem, so how did the shepherds know where to go to…

“Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (I Timothy 2:4, NKJV) I have friends who are leaving soon for an undisclosed country where the gospel is severely restricted. For those of us who have the freedom to openly share our salvation experience with others, it’s difficult to imagine how many lack that freedom. Some may be worshiping secretly or have no place to worship. As I do my daily Bible reading, I realize this is a privilege as well. I have numerous print versions as well as Bible phone apps that…
Isaiah 55:8-11 MSG ” ‘I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work.’ God’s Decree. For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think. Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed.…
Grief has a way of halting day-to-day activities, bringing us to a stand still. Sorrow is clothed with a heavy garment; losing a job, breaking up with someone, not getting an offer accepted on your dream home, or the passing of a loved one can overwhelm us with deep emotional strain. Jesus gives us a great exchange. We give Him our sin and He makes us white as snow. We give Him our sorrow, and He gives us joy. We give Him our burdens, and He will help carry them. God desires to give beauty for ashes, the oil of…
“Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust Him.” Psalms 91:1-2 There have been countless times in moments of anxiety and worry that I have clung to these words “He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust Him.” I have declared these statements over tragedy and loss, and I have whispered them through tears while struggling to believe them…
