Psalms 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world” I’m a control freak. I know where everything goes, where everything is (for the most part), who eats what and when, what shoes my oldest likes to wear and what ones hurt her toes.. the list goes on. It sounds like a good thing, and like my home is managed well but it’s actually a struggle for me because I get so caught up in what needs to be done and what’s next on the list.…
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6 I am sure that every one of us has an unfinished project somewhere in our home. We saw an interesting pattern and purchased…
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? I Corinthians 15:55. Praying about this article, I felt impressed to share the following poem that I wrote recently: Comfort and Hope Weep not as those who have no hope of life beyond the grave. This was the…

“What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?” (Matthew 18:12, New King James Version). Jesus often spoke in parables, stories or word pictures easy for His listeners to understand. Although the settings may not be as familiar in our day, the teachings are timeless. One such illustration told of a man with one hundred sheep, but one had strayed from the rest of the flock. The shepherd left the flock to search for…

“When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.” (Exodus 33:22 in the New International Version.) During a recent vacation in the mountains of North Carolina I observed clefts tucked away in the rocks. They looked like little porches where a bird or small animal could stay to weather out a storm. This portion of scripture let Moses know that God was going to shelter him in time of storm. 1 Corinthians 10:4 said, “That rock was Christ.” It’s not speaking of these clefts but it’s talking about our God being a refuge. As we were walking and observing God’s beautiful creation my mind went to this passage. These clefts are not man made; they are made by God alone. He formed them with His own hands. He shelters us from the storms of life when we belong to Him.

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for the special shelters You have prepared for Your people. Though the storm rages on all around me, I’m protected by the cleft of the rock.

Devotion by Kaye Singleton
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible) Women tend to be emotional. This is how God designed us. He gave us His Word to help us deal with our emotions when they are running rampant. Emotions are real and are meant to be expressed without hurting us or others. Try expressing them to God first. When we don’t let Him know how we feel, our reactions can result in disaster. If someone is violating you, talk…
“Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me. Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. Job 23:3-6 Bible reading this month has been in the Book of Job. We know the end of the story but when Job was going through this trial, He did not know why God was…
