“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” Isaiah 26:3

The words of the song “He Giveth More Grace” have been on my mind for the last few days. A beloved family member has been battling cancer for a few months and we realize that we are soon going to lose her. We have been praying for the Lord to give her peace and relief from her suffering.  It is at times like this that we realize how much the peace of the Lord means to us. When there is nothing, we can do, we place the situation in His hands and trust Him to have His way.

“His love has no limit, His grace has no measure

His pow’r has no boundary known unto men.

For out of His infinite riches in Jesus

He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.”

As we pray and seek the Lord for answers, scripture verses like the one above come into our minds and give us the strength to go on. Also, the words of hymns we have loved through the years provide comfort and hope.

I am so thankful for the people who have been inspired by the words of scripture to compose these hymns. Their message has stood the test of time. I hope that the ones that I have written about this week will be a blessing to each one of you. I have a hymn book that we used to sing from in church and love looking through it and remembering the times that one of the hymns has been a blessing to me. Often in my daily time with the Lord, one will come to my mind, and I find myself checking the scriptures that it is referring to.

I don’t know what you are facing today, but I do know that the Lord Jesus Christ loves you and when you take it to Him, He will give you the perfect peace that you need.

Prayer of thanksgiving: Thank you Lord Jesus for your Word and for your promise to give us perfect peace. Thank you for the many songs and hymns that have been written through the years that enforce the truth of your words.  May we always have a song of thanksgiving in our hearts?
