Isaiah 55:8-11 MSG
” ‘I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work.’ God’s Decree. For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think. Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth,
Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry,
So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.”
Have you ever been faced with a problem that you knew for certain you could not solve? If you can’t think of any one particular occasion, you can look at our world as a whole and you will not come up short for examples. Unfortunately, I cannot fix all of the issues that plague our society, even though I so wish I could. Even if I could somehow mend and restore society to what it was created to be, I am neither wise nor intelligent enough to have all the answers.
What hope we have that God’s thoughts and the ways in which He works are exceedingly superior to ours. He does not think the way we do and He does not work the way we do, and I am so thankful for that. He is the one with all the answers, He knows which path we should take, and He is the one who can turn terrible tragedies into beautiful testimonies.
He commands the rain and snow to descend on the earth to nourish the land, and they do not return until they have completed their holy task. What God has spoken into your life will not come back void. His words will do the work that He has sent them to do, and they won’t return empty-handed.
You may not have all the answers today, but you have access to the One who does.
