“When they walk through the Valley of Weeping, it will become a place of refreshing springs. The autumn rains will clothe it with blessings.”
Psalms 84:6 NLT
We all go through different seasons in life. Times of joy and blessing, but also times of loss, confusion and drought. Seasons that are filled with life and vibrancy, but also seasons of darkness and despair.
If we had to choose, we would all definitely choose the good times over the bad times. If we sat down and really thought about it all as a whole, I think we would agree that the hard times are what have shaped us into who we are today.
Sometimes we are meant to stay in the valley for awhile. We probably won’t understand it at the time, but God does have a purpose for everything. Other times, He brings us through. He has the power and ability to turn dry and dead land into a place that is refreshed and flowing with new water.
You know that smell right before it rains? That’s what I picture happening in this scripture. I smell fresh rain as blessings are on the way, even in a season that is less than ideal. I hear the rain in the distance as God is already working to turn your desert into a fountain. I see the clouds forming above as God is preparing to turn things around for you.
Father, I’m thankful that You are good and constant in every changing season of my life. I believe that You are at work in my life today and I trust You with my future.
