“And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.” Ezekiel 47:9

What a beautiful picture Ezekiel paints in this this chapter, of the river which originated in the temple and flowed out, blessing all the land around it. It was a river filled with all kinds of fish and on its banks the trees flourished. It started out small, but gradually grew in width and depth until it became water to swim in, and wherever it came it brought life.

What a picture of the Gospel message, and of how it had a small beginning with the twelve disciples of Jesus preaching of His death and resurrection, but gradually spread throughout the known world at that time. Today it has spread all over the world, and as people hear and believe they receive life. Wherever this message is preached, lives are changed and people are healed spiritually and physically.

Perhaps when Jesus told His disciples to cast out their nets, even though they had fished all night and caught nothing, He was showing them a similar picture. They caught so many fish that their boats could not contain them. What a picture of what is happening in our world today, as the Gospel is preached and men and women from every nation are finding salvation.

Truly we serve a Wonderful Lord, and it is a privilege to have the Holy Spirit flowing through our lives, blessing us with salvation and healing.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your Holy Spirit that lives in us, help us to let your Spirit flow out from us to bless others.
