“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” Psalm 34:8

The Message reads this way: “Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see – how good God is. Blessed are you who run to Him.”

It is hard for those of us who have known the Lord most of our lives to understand how people live without knowing Him. We have known so many blessings through the years. We have experienced healings, received help in time of trouble, had our needs met, and blessings bestowed upon us. We have tasted of His Word, felt the power of His Holy Spirit within, and had a foretaste of what He has prepared for us in Heaven.

If only we could somehow persuade other people to just open their hearts and their eyes and see all His goodness, they would run to Him and see for themselves how good He is. But we cannot force them to do this. The Lord said no one could come to Him unless the Spirit drew them.

Our part is to run to the Lord – seek His face for our loved ones and friends who do not know Him. Our prayer should be that the Lord would open then eyes and give them a desire to know His goodness.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that you have opened our eyes to your goodness, help our loved ones to see how good you are, and what you can do for them, if they will run to you.
