“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” Ecclesiastes 3:1
I love this time of year. After the very hot and humid days we are now experiencing cooler nights and pleasant temperatures during the day. As summer transitions into fall, it is nice to go for long walks and enjoy the beautiful things our Lord has created. Soon the leaves will begin to change colour, and we will enjoy the Autumn splendor once again.
I am glad when God created this earth, that He made the different seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each one has its special features and although we may not appreciate the extreme cold or heat when it comes, the changes are welcome. I am glad that I live in a part of the country where the seasons do change.
Just as the weather system experiences changes of seasons, so in our spiritual life we go through different seasons. As we look back on our life, we can see how the Lord has brought us through many different experiences, each one with a purpose to shape us into the person he wants us to be. As the writer expresses it in Ecclesiastes, we have had times of love, times of trouble, times of weeping, and so many other seasons. But through each season, the Lord has been there for us, guiding us and directing each step of the way.
Verse 11: “He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.”
Whatever season of life we may find ourselves in today, one thing is for certain that the Lord is always there with us.
Prayer: Jesus we thank you for your hand upon us in every season of our lives. Continue to lead us direct us in the path you would have us go.
