“It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.” Psalm 127:2
One of the things that God calls us to be stewards of is our health. Nobody else can take responsibility for that on our behalf. And one of the keys to staying healthy is to get enough rest.
We can rise up early, or we can sit up late… but not both! Accumulating a sleep deficit wears us down, and our body will eventually force us to repay it by allowing us to get sick so that we have to rest.
Sleep is a gift from God, and we need to relax and enjoy several hours of it every night. When we wake up the next morning, we will be refreshed and invigorated and ready to do His work.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of sleep. It only takes one sleepless night to make me appreciate how important it is. Help me to be a good steward of my health by getting enough rest.

I want to thank you for your devotionals on stewardship this week! I have a testimony of praise as well. I have been praying for God to help me with my time managment and money managment for sometime now. My life went into utter shambles when I back slid coupled with an illness. Back in church now a couple of years and able to live my life with the illness I desperately seek a schedule and money managment as I know Gods will is for us to be debt free. I have been going to counseling for sometime now and this week decided it’s time to work on my present so on my list of to dos I jotted my counselors name down and beside it 3 things I wanted to work on.
1. Time managment 2. A scheduled life 3. To keep my thoughts present
Later that morning with my daughter I realized I had forgot to do my devotional so I handed my phone to my daughter and asked her to read it to me as I drove. It was the morning the devotional was to be stewards of our time and finances. When she was done I asked her to get my list and read it to me and told her I had wrote that earlier in the morning! Praise the Lord as he has confirmed he hears my prayers and that what I seek and ask I seek and ask correct!! And he showed my daughter his loving hand as well!! A email response from God himself what a blessed group of ladies we are!! Thank you for allowing God to direct and bless our life’s through you ladies!!
