Payphone or cell phone? MP3 or antique gramophone? Computer screen or chalkboard? No contest. We are a technology generation. It’s great to use, but it fosters impatience. If my internet connection doesn’t open, I can’t post this devotional. Email or text messages beg for my immediate reply. Do I treat prayer the same way? I pray, send a prayer heavenward, and anticipate an instant message reply. Frustration follows when I don’t hear from God. Perhaps he answered with silence, and I missed the message to wait. His delayed response brings patience. Patience strengthens me while I wait.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint, (Isaiah 40:31, Holy Bible, King James).

Prayer : Lord, I have an abundance of , but I’m short on patience. Strengthen me while I wait. Amen.
