“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily best us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1 in the King James Version of…
“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
The failures and mistakes of yesterday are behind us. We face a new day with confidence and determination to follow the Lord every step we take.
There may be decisions we have to make today, but we can trust the Lord to give us the wisdom and direction we need. All we have to do is call out His Name, Jesus, and He is there to meet us.
We may face sorrow and discouragement, but He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. His mercies are new every morning, a fresh supply.
We may have times of joy and happiness and we will rejoice and praise God for that. The One we serve delights in giving us good things.
Whatever today holds, our life is in His hands, and He is in control. We can safely trust in Him because He is faithful and His Word is forever settled.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, whatever today holds, we know you are with us and work everything for our good.

“And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.” (Genesis 22:13 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible)
My friend, Angela was working on her degree online and needed a small desk to work from. She saw one in Target for $149 that she liked but their family budget couldn’t handle that much money just for her. God knew her need and one day to her surprise she walked into Target and it was marked down to $19.44. She went to the register thinking perhaps it was a mistake, but sure enough it was accurate.
I have known Angela for 30+ years and watched her grow up in the church. She was helpful and faithful to a church planter and his family. Because of her faithfulness God was faithful to her.
Two needs and God supplied both. Abraham was in need of a sacrifice and God provided. Angela needed a desk and He made the way.
What is your need today? God is faithful to the faithful. You can always count of Him. He keeps records of faithfulness. It pays to be faithful!
Prayer: Down through the years, Lord, You have been faithful to me. You have supplied every need. I can testify to Your faithfulness. Amen!
