We are all at different stages in our walk with God. We are at different levels of maturity regarding our understanding of God’s Word and His purpose for our lives.  Some have made a greater commitment to allow God to use them to further His kingdom. We are running this race together,…

Early childhood memories find each of us standing on the starting line. We can still hear echoes of the physical education teacher’s voice carrying above the excitement of the students. “On your mark, get set,” then the shrill whistle mobilizes all and the young charges storm toward the finish line.…

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us,” (Hebrews 12:1, Holy Bible, New Living Translation).

Running a race isn’t easy. Ask anyone who has participated in a marathon. New runners capture the spirit of the race first. They train. They run. They hear the roar of crowd as they pass each marker. Christians run individual marathons, following the path of witnesses, trailblazers, who have lived the life of faith and won the race.
Prayer: Lord, I am grateful for those who blazed the trail before me and have become my examples of faith. Amen.
