“Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.” Psalm 25:4-5

On Sunday, I had to park on the street as there were no parking places left in front of the church. We have had a lot of snow and rain this winter, so the sidewalks are covered with ice. I was picking my way carefully, watching every step, as I didn’t want to fall, and finally ended up walking on the street, hoping no cars would come until I reached my destination.

Our world today is filled with a lot of dangerous things, things that would cause us to fall if we were not continually on our guard. Our young people today face so many things that we did not have to when we were young, but the basic temptations are still the same. Like walking on icy sidewalks, we must choose our steps carefully, and be alert for the slippery places.

The New Living Translation of this verse is: “Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.”

We need not fear if we put our trust in the Lord, and daily let Him show us the road to follow. He has promised to never leave us nor forsake us, and when we follow His path, He will bring us safely to the end of our journey.

Prayer: Thank you Lord for your guidance and direction, and the confidence that you are leading us in the right paths every day.
