“He counts the stars and calls them all by name.” (Psalm 147:4)

My three-year-old daughter and I had just arrived home from church one night. The evening was cooling down, and the sky shone brightly with millions of stars. She gazed up the heavens and exclaimed: “Mama, look at all the stars!” I took a moment to appreciate her excitement and we both looked on in wonder. She sighed and finally said, “I love stars.”

As I read this verse, this sweet moment with my sleepy daughter played through my mind. My darling girl, as much as you love the stars, your God loves you that much more. He adores you in fact and thinks you are His most wonderful creation.

How reassuring to be able to read this scripture and know that we serve a personal God. If He can count all the stars and call each and every one of them by name, then how much more does He do the same for us? He knows exactly where you are today, the tears you have cried in private, and the heartbreak that is overtaking you. He knows your name, and beyond that, he calls you His daughter.

YOU are His most wonderful creation!

YOU are blessed and highly favored!

YOU are infinitely loved and adored!

Rest in that today.

Prayer:  Lord, I am so thankful that I serve a God who wants to connect with me, spend time with me and who absolutely loves me. You are not distant as the stars, but so near to me always. Thank you for your word and promises today.
