In him (Jesus) we live, and move, and have our being. Acts 17:28

In every area of life, God needs to be our source—we need Him to survive. A fish has life in the water—the water is its source of life. However, if you take the fish out of water, it will die. Similarly, when we are disconnected from the source of our spiritual life, we will begin to feel weighted down, weak, and discouraged to the point of giving up. If you can relate, take sometime to get reconnected in God’s presence today.

When we are connected to the source of all life, then we will truly live.

There are so many things happening in my life right now. Ordinarily, a heart would be encumbered with so much grief that it would be difficult to face another day. However, I feel so much strength and peace when I meet God in prayer. I know that it is not my strength I feel, but the strength of the Lord’s (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). If I was depending on my strength, I would be under the covers, crying or pacing back and forth, worrying. I am trying my best to stay connected to God.

A few years ago my dad had a stroke and I was crushed in spirit. In prayer, early one morning, the Lord asked me, “What would faith say?”

What would faith say?

I began to declare what faith would say, with tears falling on the pages of my Bible. Faith says God is a healer. Faith says God is a miracle worker. Faith says there is hope. Faith says God is the source of my strength. Faith says to trust.

Whatever the situation you are facing today, I encourage you to write down what faith says. God is able.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being the source of life. I pray that You would help me get reconnected because I cannot face this trail alone, I am weak and I need Your strength. I’m tired of being weary, so today I seek rest in Your presence. In Jesus name.

  1. Simple declaration of who and what GOD IS. Faith is NOT what I feel. It’s what I KNOW. Profound.
