“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23, KJV.

Growing up my dad taught me how to play chess. I’m still an amateur but I love spending time with him, so I’ll sit there for hours knowing I don’t have a winning chance. It doesn’t matter how many steps I think ahead, he is ten steps ahead of me.

Our relationship with God is very similar. We can have our future mapped out with personal goals and a step-by-step plan, but God has a purpose for our life that far exceeds our expectation!

We journey though life from beginning to end, however, God’s omnipotence is from the end to the beginning. God’s knowledge is incomparable to ours. He knows if the choices you are making will be detrimental or beneficial to your spiritual health. This is the reason why He asks you to step out in faith or why His answers are sometimes, “No.”

The Detriment of What If’s

Have you ever asked God, “What is your purpose through this situation in my life?” or the all too familiar, Why God?”  More than anything I want to be led by the Lord, but what if that means my path will be lonely? What if I experience pain?

The what if’s of life can prevent us from God’s master plan. What if are words that can bring so much doubt, when God is asking us to have faith in Him.

My flesh hesitates when God motions me to move to an unfamiliar place, but my spirit whispers, “trust in God.”

God Is A Master Strategist

One thing is certain, God wants to guide you through life, even after you make a wrong move on your life’s chessboard. Our God is a master strategist and He will direct you toward His perfect will and purpose for your life – if you will allow Him.

Prayer: God, I pray You will remind me that You are the author and finisher of my faith and that You know the beginning to end. I desire righteousness. Please guide my every footstep and divinely orchestrate my life because I want to be in Your perfect will. I trust You, Amen.
