“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” II Corinthians 5:17

During the last few weeks there has been a lot in the news about the young lady who recently became a member of the British royal family, and the changes she has had to make because of that position. Queen Elizabeth has set some standards and protocol that all members of the family are expected to follow. There are some things she can no longer do, wear, and even say. Breaking these rules, reflects on the Queen and what she stands for.

I was meditating on this and thinking of how when we surrender to Jesus Christ, we become a child of the King of Kings. There are many changes that we make in our lives because of our loyalty to Him. We change our way of thinking, we change our speech, we change the way we dress, and we change the way we conduct ourselves in public.

Why? Because we are no longer our own, we belong to the family of God, and everything we do or say reflects who we belong to. As a child of the King of Kings, we want to please Him in every part of our lives, we want the world to see Jesus reflected in us, so that He will be glorified. We do not want to do anything that will bring shame to the great family we are part of. As this Scripture says, we are new creatures, old things have passed away, and all things are become new.

Prayer: Jesus we thank you for the privilege of being part of your family and we pray that you will help us every day to live so as not to bring any reproach to you.

Beautiful analogy. Even with such clear explanation many will still reject the Way of God. Thank God for touching our hearts to trust and obey.
