“And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.” (Genesis 3:8 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible). Every few months HUD Housing inspects its rental homes to make sure that they are being taken care of. I wonder what God would find if He walked through your home today? The garden of Eden was Adam and Eve’s home and apparently He made a daily inspection of the garden. It was always at the end of the day. This should not have been a surprise visit for He had been there the day before, but on this particular day the scripture says that they hid themselves from the presence of the Lord. We know why they hid; because they had disobeyed God. If God inspected my home would I pass the inspection or would He find grounds to evict me? How about your home? Maybe it’s time to clean out the things from our home that displease God.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I don’t want to find anything in my house that would be displeasing to You. You have provided a home where I can reside with my family. Let me keep it clean and pure in Your sight. Amen!

“Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the loving kindness of the Lord” (Psalm 107:43 in the King James Version of the Bible).

After reading this in my Bible, I reread it in the Message version, “If you are really wise, you’ll think this over—it’s time you appreciated God’s deep love.” This is Thanksgiving month; a month set aside to count our blessings. It’s time we wise up to God’s loving-kindness to us and show our appreciation by worshiping Him more.

Prayer: Every day this month I will sing with the songwriter, “Thank You Lord for saving my soul. Thank You Lord for making me whole. Thank You Lord for giving to me; Thy great salvation, so rich and so free.” In Jesus’ Name. Amen!

But his answer was: “My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.” I am most happy, then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ’s power over me. I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties…

So brothers and sisters, since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to him, which is the spiritual way for you to worship. (Romans 12:1, NCV) Have you ever…

Psalms 20:7 “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.” Oftentimes when we read scripture like the one written above, we brush it off and convince ourselves that it doesn’t apply to us. I mean, who actually owns a…
