“Commit everything you do to the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.” (Psalm 37:5)

This verse is quite simple, give everything you have to God, trust Him, and then because of these actions – He will help you. It seems like a no-brainer but how often do we hold on to certain things, and not even realize it? I struggled with this for about a year, and could not understand why everything felt out of balance. It wasn’t entirely noticeable, but just enough for me to feel disconnected.

I struggled with hearing the voice of God and knowing His direction for my life. I finally woke up one day and realized I was living with fear and didn’t even realize it. Fear controlled my thoughts and my decisions. No longer was I allowing God to lead me, I instead chose terror as my companion.

The book of Psalms has guided me back to a place of surrender and consecration. I have to accept His will for my life, no matter the sacrifice. I must trust Him, for He knows everything and only wants what is best for me. Then I must wait, and watch Him work it out. The solution is simple, but the work is hard. It will require sacrifice, dedication, and perseverance – but we can do it with help from our Almighty God!

Prayer:  Lord, help me today to be completely surrendered to Your perfect will for my life. I know and trust that You will work it out for my good. I’m thankful today that You are faithful and constant in my life. Thank you for loving me.
