“Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” (Psalm 37:4 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible)
I watched a toddler’s eyes light up and he started clapping his hands as his mother approached his stroller with an ice cream cone. He was delighted to see it coming his way. Everybody likes ice cream, don’t they? It’s one of my favorite food items.
The scripture tells us, if we delight ourself in the Lord, that He will give us the desires of our heart. Could it be that our desires are not being realized because we fail to be as delighted as that little guy was when he saw what he wanted on the way?
Attitude is everything!
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for all You have given me. I am overjoyed at Your countless blessings. May my attitude and spirit be right when You give me the desires of my heart! Amen.
