“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.”  (2 Timothy 1:7 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.)

I have received packages at the Post Office that did not have my name on them.  They were addressed to someone else.  So, I went to the front desk and told them that it didn’t belong to me.

In our devotional verse, the Apostle Paul was telling Timothy  where fear came from.  The sooner we understand the source of fear the better off we will be.

Where did you get your fear from?  God didn’t send you that package, so don’t accept it!  God will send you power and love and a sound mind. We have power to encounter foes and danger. We have power to stand strong when facing trials.  God gives power to our mind and holy courage for whatever comes our way.

The enemy tries desperately to destroy us through fear.  Fear comes in many varieties.  He wants us to be caught off-guard and accept what he sends.  Let Satan know that you are aware of his junk mail and push past fear to faith.

Prayer:  I do not accept the spirit of fear, but I have power in the Name of Jesus!
