“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted.” (Isaiah 53:4 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.)
Isaiah was prophetically speaking of the death of our Lord and Savior. Jesus Christ came to earth for the specific purpose of dying for humanity. He robed himself in flesh and walked on earth. He was bodily afflicted for us, and He bore all of our griefs and afflictions. Because He came to earth to dwell He has compassion toward our needs.
Jesus was sinles, but He cared enough for us to take our place at Calvary. We just celebrated Easter and many attended church, but I wonder if they really got the message of His great love for us. His death was especially for you and me. He knew we would be lost without hope, so He suffered agony on the cross to set us free. All those stripes, wounds and pain, He bore so we could wear His name. There was no other reason for Him to suffer like He did unless we were the reason.
Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for Your great love! There is no greater love. Today I rejoice and praise Your name!
