“That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.” I Peter 1:7-9

My faith is built on Christ alone.

a firm foundation, corner stone.

Steadfast and sure His promise stands.

I’m safely held in His strong hands.

Though darkest valley I may trod,

He guides me gently with His rod.

He knows the dangers that await,

His mercy makes the rough way straight.

When I am faced with doubt and fear

His soft voice whispers in my ear.

“Rejoice my child, and trust in Me,

My love and grace have set you free.”

Mountains of difficulty loom

and dark clouds fill my heart with gloom,

Sunshine streams from heaven above

surrounding me with peace and love.

I’ve served Him faithfully for years.

He’s known my faults and seen my tears.

Never once has He not been there

when I reached out to Him in prayer.

My life one day on earth will end.

I’ve caught a glimpse around the bend.

The faith that’s kept my life secure

will guide me safe to heaven’s shore.
