“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105
In the last few weeks, God has allowed our path of life to slow down. We may feel like we are walking in the shadows, uncertain of what lies ahead for us. We often quote this verse from Psalms, and now we are being tested as to whether we really believe it or not. But the Word of God has not changed, and if we take time to read it and meditate upon it, the Lord will enlighten it to us and give us the direction we need.
We often look at circumstances and try to figure out in our minds just what is going on and how everything is going to turn out. But remember, that the Lord looks at things differently than we do. He has a different perspective on what is happening in our world, because He knows the future as well as the present.
I heard the song, “From Heaven’s Point of View” on FB the other day. I have heard it before, but it seemed to be so pertinent to our situation now. Here are some of the words, that I felt the Lord would want me to share with you today, trusting that it will give you encouragement as it did me. Take time to find it online and listen to the whole song.
“I may face things tomorrow I can’t comprehend today
Circumstances so uncertain make it hard to find the strength to pray
But I’m living in the promise I’ll never leave you
I’ll always see you through So what’s this mountain
To an eagle flying high from heaven’s point of view”
We have talked this week about many lessons that the Lord may be trying to teach us during our time of isolation. We have discussed finding the secret place with God and listening to Him. We talked about trusting Him and being content regardless of what we are going through. Today we are learning to look at everything through God’s perspective. There are a lot of news reports, theories, etc., that we hear every day, and they only tend to make us fearful and uncertain about the future. But let us take time to look into the Word of God with open hearts and let Him show us what He wants for us today. We cannot expect His Word to be a light to our path, if we do not spend time reading it. Instead of fear and uncertainty, we will find peace and joy.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank you for your Word that is our light to guide us in your perfect way. Help us to look at everything in our lives from your perspective.
