But when he saw the strong wind and the waves, he was terrified and began to sink. “Save me, Lord!” he shouted. (Matthew 14:30, NLT)

Peter listens to Jesus and climbs out of the boat. Soon after, we find him sinking because he begins to lack the faith that is required to remain afloat. While Peter does allow his fear to take over, we must not negate that he was the only one to get out of the boat. Sometimes we need to take chances even when we do not know what the outcomes will be. We will definitely run into some waves along the way and we may even sink from time to time. Keep your head up and keep the faith. God will always carry you through if you keep your eyes on Him.

Prayer: Lord, I pray that you will grant us the confidence we need to get out of the boat! In Jesus name, amen.
