“Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” (Romans 13:10 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible)
This morning I was convicted by this scripture that a friend posted on Facebook. Not that I have done any wrong to my neighbors, but I haven’t shown them the proper love they deserve either. Penny, my neighbor across the street, is homebound with Alzheimer’s and I haven’t visited her for a while. So, today I plan on visiting her. A nurse is with her every day and cares for her, but, as her neighbor, I need to show her my love.
Another neighbor, Rose, brought me a lily plant for Mother’s Day and I haven’t sent her a “Thank You” card yet. I just sat down to write it.
Jesus came to fulfill the law which is the Word of God. This practical book deals with real life situations including our relationships with others.
How about you? Have you fulfilled the law today? Go spread some love and fulfill the law. If you do your part, God will do His.
Prayer: Lord, you have placed us in neighborhoods to be a witness of Your love. Loving Your way is desperately needed in our society! Amen.
