“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” (Acts 20:24 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible)
The Apostle Paul took his job seriously. He was resolute in the fact that the ministry was given to him by the Lord Jesus and that he was going to please God by finishing it with joy.
The enemy is in hot pursuit of ministers, their wives and families. We cannot allow other things to shift or change our position. The cause of Christ is first and foremost in our lives.
I’m reminded today of an old song our pastor would often sing; it goes like this:
Keep me true Lord Jesus keep me true. Keep me true Lord Jesus keep me true.
There’s a race that I must run, there are victories to be won.
Every hour by thy power keep me true.
Prayer: This is my prayer today. Keep me true, Lord. Amen!
