“If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” (Daniel 3: 17-18, NIV)
As we approach the last days, idolatry has become rampid. We have turned into a people that worship the things we have equally or more than the one who saved us. Insteas, we need to develop the same attitude that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had that day they were sent into the furnace. They refused to bow down and were willing to give up their lives for what they believed in. Just like God saved them, he will protect us if we are willing to make a stand for Him.
Prayer: Lord, if we have turned our posessions into idols, I pray that you will help us to move passed that. Help us to worship you alone in a world full of people and things vying for our attention. In Jesus name, amen.
