“Forget what happened long ago! Don’t think about the past. I am creating something new. There it is! Do you see it? I have put roads in deserts, streams in thirsty lands.”
Isaiah 43:18-19 CEV
I feel like more than ever we need to stand firm on this scripture and remind ourselves of it daily.
The world appears to be in chaos. Rioting and protests fill our streets. Violence is escalating, morals are disappearing and humanity is broken.
The planet we have been given to live on and enjoy, is fighting to survive as we deplete it of it’s resources. Mental illness has skyrocketed, depression and anxiety consume us and fear has us locked in it’s fierce grip.
This scripture reminds us that God is doing something new even in spite of all of this. He is not deterred by our failings, and chaos does not frighten Him.
He can always make a way, even when the path appears to be blocked. 2020 has been a year for the books, but we must press on.
Don’t allow yourself to be consumed with the past, or even what has already happened these last few months. I encourage you to look ahead today. Allow His word to light the way in front of you, and look up for your help.
He is doing a new work!
God, I’m thankful that you are in control. I choose to look forward today, leaving my past in the past. Create something new in me today.
