“Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.” Ruth 3:18 God had a plan for Ruth, and he had chosen Boaz to be the one who would bring that plan to fruition. He was a wealthy man but loved the Lord. Today we will consider the characteristics that he possessed. Humility – Notice how he treated his employees greeting them kindly at the beginning of the workday. Kind and considerate – provided food and water and rest…
“And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich. And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest:…
“Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?” Ruth 3:1 God blessed us with a beautiful daughter, who has been faithful to the Lord from the time she was a little girl. When…

Do you feel worn thin, frazzled, or burned out? Our schedules can be full of things we think we must do. Our daily “to-do” list gets longer and longer. We cannot relax until every entry is crossed off and every need of others is met. Oh, sister, I understand. It can often seem like we are racing to get to the weekend, but even then, we’re overbooked. Our bodies are tired, and our souls are weary. Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.” So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. (Acts 8:29-31, NKJV) Acts 8 records an encounter between an official in the court of Queen Candace of Ethiopia and Philip, the evangelist. Scripture does not tell us the man’s background, but he was probably a convert to Judaism. When Philip met him, he had been…
“The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.” Psalm 16:5 Image by Anemone123 from Pixabay The NIV reads “Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup, you have made my lot secure.” August has been a very busy month, and I have been blessed to spend a lot of time with family. We had not all been together for five years, and what a great time we had, reminiscing on the past. We shared stories of good times and some not-so-good. We played games, ate together, and laughed a lot.…
This week during mid-week service I encountered person after person who was exhausted from their busy workweek, family responsibilities, and depleted of physical energy. Weariness showed on a people’s faces, even when they tried to hide their exhaustion behind a smile. However, when we started to sing, Your Presence is Heaven to Me, God’s supernatural strength began to give the weakened heart and spirit power to not only endure, but to thrive. We entered from an earthly place of physical limitations, to heavenly places, where nothing is impossible. Who is like You Lord in all the earth? Matchless love and…
