“A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people.” 2 Timothy 2:24 I am really not a people person, I struggle with small talk and have little patience for “difficult” people. This is why I married my sweet Trent, so he could talk to all the people while I fade into the background. This verse tells me though that in order to be servant of the Lord, I must do three things. First, not quarrel but be kind to everyone. Anyone else struggle with being…

It was still dark as Mary made her way along the path to Jesus’ grave in the early morning hours. When she arrived, she saw that the stone was rolled away, and Jesus’ body was gone. Crushed by the weight of her caring she came crying, where is Jesus?  When…

And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. (Isaiah 42:16) “Where are we going?” one of our children exclaimed. “Are we there yet?”another piped up. “How much longer?” they all wondered. For them it seemed like eternity before we reached our destination and at times as though we may never get there, or that perhaps we were possibly lost. Oh but my…

“I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” (Psalm 16:8 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.) Absorbed in the song being played on the radio, I waited for the light to turn green. The car ahead of me started moving and so did I in automatic motion. All of a sudden I looked at the light and it was still red. I stopped and waited until the light turned green to proceed. We have to be careful what is leading us. The Psalmist said that he was going to set or put the Lord out front always. Be careful who you are following. It could have been a bad scene for me had I not realized that the car ahead of me ran a red light. You never have to worry when the Lord’s out front leading you.
Prayer: Lord, today I want to place You ahead of me so that I can follow your leading. Where You lead me I want to follow. You see way down the road and know what’s best for my life.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  (2 Timothy 1:7 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible) Women tend to be emotional.   This is how God designed us.  He gave us His Word to help us deal with our emotions when they are running rampant. Emotions are real and are meant to be expressed without hurting us or others.  Try expressing them to God first.  When we don’t let Him know how we feel, our reactions can result in disaster.  If someone is violating you, talk…

“Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat! I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments. I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me. Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me. Job 23:3-6 Bible reading this month has been in the Book of Job. We know the end of the story but when Job was going through this trial, He did not know why God was…
