That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers. (Psalm 1:3, NIV)

Psalm 1 says that those who walk with the Lord and meditate on His word day and night will prosper. The Psalm describes what the life of someone seeking the Lord should look like, and what will come from a life devoted to Him.  Daily meditation will lead us to a place where God can use us to do His work. The minute we step away from that daily commitment, our “leaf” soon withers. Just like when you are trying to grow a plant, it does not take long for the plant to begin to wither without its continuous supply of nutrition.

Prayer: Lord, give us the desire to meditate on Your word day and night. Help us to see and understand the importance of walking in Your word and seeking You each day. In Jesus name, amen.
