“Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of…
One of my favorite worship songs right now is “Looking Up,” as sung by Nashville Life, and featuring vocalist CeCe Winans. The chorus alone is worth the listen, but there are two lines that thrill my soul with HOPE : All of my problems are below You. All that I…
Psalms 13:5 NLT “But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.” My two year old daughter has recently learned the power of yelling “help” when she needs me. As a mother, my first instinct when I hear her desperate plea, is panic. The…
Psalms 61:2 NLT “From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety” Anyone else out there who is terrified of heights? I surely can’t be the only one whose knees go weak even looking…
Exodus 14:19-20 MSG “The angel of God that had been leading the camp of Israel now shifted and got behind them. And the Pillar of Cloud that had been in front also shifted to the rear. The Cloud was now between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel.…
“Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the LORD!” (Isaiah 31:1, English Standard Version) I’m…
“And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four” Mark 2:3 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible).
I recently read a book entitled, “When I Lay My Isaac Down: Unshakable Faith in Unthinkable Circumstances” by Carol Kent. Carol and her husband, Gene, have only one son, J.P., who is serving a life sentence without parole for killing a man at gun point outside a restaurant in Orlando, Florida. Their journey through this unthinkable circumstance has not shaken their faith in God. Carol refers to the friends who helped her as “stretcher bearers.” She wrote, “We will all wind up on the stretcher at some point in life.” The unexpected happens to all putting us at the mercy of others. Thank You, Lord, for my friends!
Prayer: Jesus, please help me to be a stretcher bearer for those who are in need of assistance. It may be that I am next to need someone to lift me up and carry me to You!

For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. (Isaiah 41:12, KJV) Every day I am surrounded by 20 four year old’s who often use the phrase, “But Miss Melinda, I can’t…” and it drives me crazy. In most recent…
Have you ever felt alone or forsaken? Maybe, you are the only emotional, physical and financial resource for your household. If you don’t kiss the hurt knee, it won’t be comforted. If you don’t clean the house, it will stay dirty. If you don’t pay the rent, you will all be living on the street. There is someone who wants to help you.
READ: Hebrews 13:5-6, from the Holy Bible, King James Version.
“I (the Lord) will never leave thee, nor forsake thee…The Lord is my helper…”
The Lord Jesus Christ wants to help you. But He is a gentlemen, He will only go where He is invited. Will you invite Him into your life today?
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I invite you into my loneliness and daily struggles. Quiet my mind. Comfort my spirit. Provide for me and my family. Create in me a desire to know you better. Show me today, in a tangible way, that you never leave me.
