“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” (Lamentations 3:22-23 in the King James Version of the Bible)

God’s compassion has no end. His desire is not to destroy you, but to restore you. We made mistakes yesterday; last week; last month; last year; but today He is inviting us to start over. He offers us new mercy every morning!

Prayer: I am overwhelmed by your loving faithfulness to me. You see me not as I am, but what You want me to become. Thank you for being patient with me!

Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever, (Psalm 106:1, Holy Bible, New King James). You’ve seen the adverse effects of permanent things—black marks on the wall made by a happy toddler, a scar from an accidental knife cut while…

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
The failures and mistakes of yesterday are behind us. We face a new day with confidence and determination to follow the Lord every step we take.
There may be decisions we have to make today, but we can trust the Lord to give us the wisdom and direction we need. All we have to do is call out His Name, Jesus, and He is there to meet us.
We may face sorrow and discouragement, but He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. His mercies are new every morning, a fresh supply.
We may have times of joy and happiness and we will rejoice and praise God for that. The One we serve delights in giving us good things.
Whatever today holds, our life is in His hands, and He is in control. We can safely trust in Him because He is faithful and His Word is forever settled.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, whatever today holds, we know you are with us and work everything for our good.

“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.) “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” is how we often quote this scripture. […]

Matthew 5:17 “Blessed are the merciful; for they shall obtain mercy.”

Jesus showed mercy to those who came in contact with. Even when He was dying on the cross, He extended mercy to the thief who hung beside Him.

Where would we be without His mercy to us? Some of us have known the Lord since we were children, others came to Him later in life; but if it wasn’t for His mercy, we would not have Him in our lives.

Because we have been shown mercy, the Lord expects us to be merciful to those around us. It is so easy to look at the mistakes and sins of others and judge them, sometimes even asking the Lord to punish them for their wickedness. But when we remember that we are all sinners in God’s sight, we realize we did not deserve God’s mercy, either.

When the world looks at me, do they see mercy?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I am so thankful for the mercy you extended to me, even though I was not worthy. Let me always show mercy to others to they will see Jesus in me.

“For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation” (Luke 1:49-50 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible).

Mary understood that she did not merit the tremendous honor God had given her as the mother of the Saviour. All she had done for her part was live in obedience to God’s commandments and followed Him to the best of her ability. Throughout Scripture the Israelites constantly vacillated between faithful obedience and wayward disobedience, but God’s mercy was always available when they turned their back on sin. Today, God extends His faithful, loving, mercy to everyone who follows Him.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for the great blessings in my life. May I always walk with You and never leave the protection of Your abundant mercy.

“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy” (Psalm 103:7 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible).

There are many who view God as someone who is watching their every move waiting for an opportunity to pass judgment on them. While it is true that our unjust actions, apart from God’s mercy, will bring the penalty of sin upon our lives, this Scripture emphasizes the great patience of God towards us.

Prayer: Jesus, I praise you for your endless love and compassion. Forgive me for my thoughtlessness and the many times I have overlooked your tender mercies. Help me to think before I act, to be more careful about the way I handle Your mercy. Thank You for being patient with me. Amen.
