“The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.” Psalm 16:6
As I meditate upon the Lord this morning, my heart is filled with gratitude. There is food in my cupboard, clothing in my closet, and money in the bank to meet my monthly obligations. I have children who love me and keep in close touch. I have a great church to attend and a pastor who preaches God’s Word. Most important of all, I have assurance of salvation, and hope of eternity in heaven, when He calls me home.
I realize that I do not deserve all the blessing the Lord has bestowed upon me, it is only because of His mercy and care for me. Truly, like the Psalmist, I can say “my lines have fallen in pleasant places; and I have a godly heritage.”
I lift my voice in thanksgiving and praise to the Lord who daily provides my every need.
Prayer: Thank you Jesus for all you have provided, help me to be ever thankful for your love.

“I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.” Psalm 104:33-34
When the Lord created man in the beginning, He could have made us in such a way that we would be forced to do whatever He wanted. But instead He gave us a free will. He only gave Adam and Eve one rule to follow, and they broke that. How much different it would have been if they had made a choice to obey God rather than disobey Him.
Serving the Lord today is a choice we make. We decide to lay aside our own will and listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in everything we do.
Worshipping and praising God is also a choice. In the different circumstances of our life, we decide—to grumble and complain about our lot, or to praise the Lord for His blessings and His guidance, knowing that He knows what is best for us. He will never allow anything to come our way, that He does not give us the strength to bear.
I choose to worship God, how about you?
Prayer: Jesus, you have met us so many times in the past, and we will praise and worship you, knowing that you will see us through every situation.

Thank you is one of the first phrases a child learns from a parent after please. The Psalmist tells us to make thanksgiving a habit each time we enter into the presence of the Lord. This reminder is more than a lesson in etiquette. On this day dedicated to gratitude, it is a must-do, top-of-the-list reminder for the children of God.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name (Psalm 100:4, Holy Bible, King James).

Prayer : A gratitude of praise rises from my heart to You Lord on this Thanksgiving day. Amen.

“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee” (Exodus 20:12 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible). My youngest brother recently received a promotion in the Army. He is now a Lt. Colonel. At…
