“I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” Psalm 18:1-2 David wrote this Psalm of thanksgiving unto the…

The chief adviser said to them, “Tell Hezekiah: ‘This is what the great king, the king of Assyria, says: “What is your source of confidence? . . . In whom are you trusting, that you would dare to rebel against me?” (Isaiah 36:4-5, New English Translation) The people of Judah…

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding,” (Proverbs 3:5, Holy Bible, New Living Translation). Some modernists have become so entangled in the independent do-it-yourself mode that it’s encroached into Christianity. While self-sufficiency may be an option for wallpapering a home or maintaining a yard, the writer of Proverbs does not recommend it for heart maintenance. His instruction is total dependence on the Lord.
