One of the hardest parts of watching people age is seeing a loss of strength. Most have been independent all their lives. It puts a dent in their pride to accept help in areas where they are no longer strong enough to cope.

  • Lending a hand to help them negotiate difficult terrain.
  • Placing your arm around them when they falter.
  • Putting a palm under their elbow to walk alongside and steady them. These are all examples of lending your strength to them.

But, many times they look at these “helps” as threats to their independence. Instead, it would be better if they thought of it as doubling their own strength.

God gives us strong assurance in today’s scripture that He will be alongside us to STRENGTHEN us when we are weak; to UPHOLD us when we falter.

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV).

When we are fearful (anxious, uneasy, hesitant) or dismayed (disturbed, upset, uneasy), it’s best to PAUSE & rely on God’s strength.

‘Fearful’ and ‘dismayed’ both indicate a level of faithlessness or DOUBT. Instead of writing us off as unable to do what we must, God graciously comes alongside to HELP; to STRENGTHEN.

He doubles our own strength. He lends His support, so that we can be ready for the Him-Possible!

SUSAN HOHMAN

Most of us know that Faith is an important component of seeing a miracle performed. But, sometimes, God asks us to step back and wait — PAUSE — for a specific purpose, in order to see our miracle come to fruition. The Pause for the Him-Possible is an innovative approach to a 30-day devotional with a daily call to action. In this book, Susan Hohman gives us pause to consider an avenue of faith and believing that we may not have considered before.
