“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
For the past few days, we have been looking at people in the Scriptures placed by God in strategic places to fulfill His plans and purposes. There are others that we could have chosen. But I pray that as you have read the articles this week, you have taken time to look back at your own life and realize how God’s hand has been upon you and placed you where He wanted you.
As I take time to think about my life, it amazes me how decisions that seemed small at the time, opened the way for events that happened later in life. After my husband passed away, I was content to remain where we had been living and did so for four years. But one day, I knew it was time to move closer to my daughter. Within a couple of years, she and her husband were appointed as Metro Missionaries to Quebec. I had a big decision to make. Did I move with them, or stay where I was and be further away from them than before? I will not go into details, but as I made my decision to move, I felt peace that it was the will of the Lord. Everything that has happened since has shown me that I made the right choice. God has blessed me abundantly and I am happy and content.
God does not make mistakes. He knows our past, present, and future. He had a plan and a purpose for each of us. When we are surrendered completely to Him, He will direct every step we take. He has given us promises in His Word to encourage and strengthen us.
Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
Proverbs 4:18 “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”
Hebrews 13:5 “for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Our world is filled with turmoil and strife, and often the future looks uncertain. But our faith and trust are in the Lord Jesus Christ. We serve Him faithfully where He has placed us, and one day soon, He will return to take us to our heavenly home.
Prayer: Jesus, often we cannot see the path ahead, but we know that you are leading us and guiding us and will not let us go astray. Help us to keep our eyes on You and be faithful in the place You have positioned us.
