“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2
We often read stories of people who have been wrongly accused of a crime, and end up being found guilty, and sent to prison. How awful it must feel to serve time for something you did not do. In some cases, years go by before the truth comes out. The person may be released, but the stigma will be with them for years to come.
On the other side, there are those who are committed to prison because they were truly guilty of a crime, and they must pay the penalty for what they have done.
This scripture tells us that when we give our lives to Jesus, and walk in His Spirit, all our sins have been forgiven and washed away. We were guilty, but Jesus paid the complete price for our redemption. We have been tried in the Court of Heaven, and the verdict is: “Not guilty for eternity.” We are no longer under condemnation but have been set free. The enemy would like to remind us repeatedly of our past, but we need to remind him that we have been set free through Jesus.
Prayer: Thank you Jesus for your precious blood that paid form my transgressions and there is now no condemnation, but freedom in you.
