church“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”  (Hebrews 10:25 NIV)

In June 2016 we went on a cruise to Alaska.  It was simply fabulous!  If you’ve been on a cruise, you know the staff take lots of picture of you and your party from beginning to end.  One evening they announced there would be a drawing for “free” pictures.  We signed up immediately.  The requirement was you must be present to win.  So, we showed up at the designated time.  The room was crowded with passengers desiring to win the picture packet.

Reading this scripture brought this memory back and reminded me of the importance of meeting together with other believers.  Being present at church is critical, if we want to win.   Church attendance will keep us encouraged to go on when our world falls apart.  Jesus is present and He’s keeping attendance records!

If we miss too many days of school, we fail.  If we don’t show up for work, we’re fired.  How in the world can we expect to make Heaven our final resting place without being present at church?  Faithfulness is a requirement for Heaven!

Prayer:  Lord Jesus, I want to hear You say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant!”  This is my ultimate goal.  When the roll is called up yonder, I want to be present!  Amen.
