“And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity.” (Luke 2:36 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.)
It’s Christmas time again and the story of His coming into the world still excites me!
Reading about Simeon and Anna made me realize that how we respond to God’s presence will have a profound effect on all those present.
Simeon had waited so long for the promised One. When he saw Jesus face-to-face, He knew without a doubt this was the Messiah! He took Him in his arms and blessed God!
Reading on in verse 36, Anna came in and realized for herself that Israel’s redemption was in their midst. She began to give thanks. Our worship is so very important!
Prayer: Jesus, I worship You because You came into the world. My life will never be the same because of Your coming. Today, I want to worship You with new fervor because You alone are worthy of my praise! Amen!
