“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.” (Psalm 32:7 KJV)

As a child, I remember playing Hide ‘n Seek. I am the oldest of eight and we played this game at least once a day. No iPads, computers or cell phones were in our house, so we learned to play these old-fashioned games.

Being the oldest I found places to hide where my little brothers and sisters couldn’t find me. They soon caught on to where my favorite hiding place was and I had to find another spot.

My favorite hiding place was the closet. There were clothes, blankets, and pillows I could use for camouflage.

As a grown-up, I have found a new hiding place. I go there daily knowing that I am safe and secure from the things I am facing in life. He gives me songs of deliverance. My hiding place is Jesus, Jesus is all that I need!

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for being a refuge in the time of trouble. There’s nothing like feeling secure in You, Lord! In our secret place, You have given me songs of deliverance.  Amen.
