“He healeth the broken hearted, and bindeth up their wounds.” (Psalm 147:3)

People are angry. Protests and violence run rampant on the streets of our cities. Hate fuels decisions, and makes people react in ways they typically wouldn’t. As I tried to sort out why these tragedies keep happening, one word crossed my mind. Hurt.

Humanity long ago made the decision that we could handle hurt, fear and anger all on our own without the help of our Savior. We have all suffered some sort of personal tragedy or loss. Maybe abuse stole your childhood, a disease took a family member or perhaps you battle with depression or mental illness. Regardless of what life has handed you, the human race is hurting and is very, very broken.

We need God.

While there are steps we can take to recover and heal, there are some wounds only our Savior can bind up. He desires to heal us, and restore what has been lost. We are His children, and He absolutely loves and adores us. We must lay aside our hurt and anger and accept the love of Christ into our hearts.

Only then can we truly change the world.

Prayer:  God, today I ask for healing. My heart is shattered and anger is fueling my words, actions, and choices. I need Your healing to flow over my life right now, please make me whole and do a work that only You can do.  Amen.
