Ephesians 5:15 KJV “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,” 2 Chronicles 2:12 KJV “Huram said moreover, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with prudence and understanding, that might build an house for the Lord, and an house for his kingdom.” Proverbs 12:27 KJV “The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.” According to Merriam-Webster, circumspectly means “careful to consider all circumstances and possible consequences – PRUDENT.” The word…
Psalms 100:4 ESV “Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!” My husband spoke a message this past Sunday titled “He has made me glad” referencing the above scripture. He of course spoke of the importance of engaging in praise and…

“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:3-4 Tuesday did not start out particularly good. When I woke, I thanked the Lord for the day and asked His direction. I knew I had to finish writing my posts for next week for this Devotional site. Everyone is a photographer these days. Camera apps and filters provide pop and color enhancements to otherwise average photos. Your eyes are capable of a much higher dynamic range than your camera lens. What we see with our eyes can never fully be captured on cards or in our phones. Thankfully, enhancements to technology are making this limitation less as time progresses. I am reminded of a time I went to a local photography…
“… Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 Help Me Run The Race Before I was in full-time ministry, I worked at Christian Horizons. I assisted men and women who had developmental disabilities and taught them how to cook, clean, and manage their money. It was my favorite secular job, I was so blessed to get paid for something I loved to do. Many people I assisted had Down’s Syndrome; they were incredible, loving individuals and I learned…
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised. (Song of Solomon 8:7, ESV) Some of the most valuable things in life cannot be bought with money: respect, loyalty, trust, wisdom, happiness, true friendship. And love. We can’t write a check, whip out our Visa card, or even exchange cash for love. Some have tried, but it just doesn’t work that way. Love is not for sale. Much has been written about love—songs, poems, books, love letters—but I’m not sure we will ever…
