“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Romans 8:14 Let us do a bit of time traveling today. Imagine that you are an Israelite woman camped in the wilderness. For a few days you have been in one spot, and you have gone about your daily routine. Each morning as you awake, the first thing you do is go to your tent door and look towards the Tabernacle. Is the cloud still hovering over the Tabernacle, or has it started to rise? Depending on the answer, you will either wake…
“Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.” Psalm 74:17 “For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle…
“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.” (Jeremiah 2:13) Have you ever been in a place where pure water was difficult to find? I’ve visited a few places where the water was…

“Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,” Job 38:22 Winter seems to have come early this year, we have had snow almost every day this week. The scene from my window is beautiful. The cedar trees are covered with snow, and the wide expanse of lawn is only broken by the tracks of squirrels. When God was answering Job, He asked him if he had ever considered the treasures of the snow. Snow is an important part of Earth’s climate system. It provides a covering for the plants that…
“And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.” (2 Kings 6:6) In 2 Kings 6, we read about Elisha and his men trying to decide where to go next. They finally decided to go to Jordan and build a place to live in. When they arrived at Jordan, they began to cut wood for the dwelling. One man was cutting and the axe head flew off and into the water. He began to fret because this was borrowed…
“And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,” Deuteronomy 10:12 In Deuteronomy, Moses had been re-telling the story of the Israelite’s deliverance from Egypt and their travels up to this point. They had been so close to going into the Promised Land, but due to their fear, they had been forced to dwell in the wilderness for forty years. The ones who had…

“And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.” (Genesis 3:8 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible). Every few months HUD Housing inspects its rental homes to make sure that they are being taken care of. I wonder what God would find if He walked through your home today? The garden of Eden was Adam and Eve’s home and apparently He made a daily inspection of the garden. It was always at the end of the day. This should not have been a surprise visit for He had been there the day before, but on this particular day the scripture says that they hid themselves from the presence of the Lord. We know why they hid; because they had disobeyed God. If God inspected my home would I pass the inspection or would He find grounds to evict me? How about your home? Maybe it’s time to clean out the things from our home that displease God.

Prayer: Dear Lord, I don’t want to find anything in my house that would be displeasing to You. You have provided a home where I can reside with my family. Let me keep it clean and pure in Your sight. Amen!
